Temptation

It is the desire to perform an action that may result in immediate or short term enjoyment which later may end in regret. This is a word we know all to well.  There isn’t anyone on this planet which hasn’t been tempted by something. Temptation comes in so many ways.  For some it’s food, shopping and others the opposite sex. The list of temptations can go on and on.  We know what items tempt us, but do we know how to resist our temptations. These two phrase comes to mind “Your sweetest is my weakness” or my personal favorite “A moment of pleasure can bring you a life time of pain”. Hey what can I say I’ve been tempted before. I have no problem admitting it.   The key to temptation is realizing what it is that tempts you and removing yourself from the situation.  I’m not going to tell you count to 10 and it will all go away because shot I tried that and temptation was still there. I’m learning more and more when temptation rises remove yourself from the situation. For those who are religious you just might want to pray and don’t pray the prayer I heard on TV “The Lord is my Sheppard he knows what I want” LOL.  Sorry that prayer isn’t going to get you through it.  You are going to need something with a little more drive behind it.  Remember when temptation arise remove yourself from the situation or even better don’t allow yourself to be put in the situation.
