A
few days ago I took a room in my house and converted it from a bedroom to my
office. It is simply breathtaking,
cream carpet, white walls and dark chocolate furniture. I smiled after placing all of the furniture
inside and then thought to myself what a great room to do my homework in. Then, I took a moment and began to swing in my office chair and then I stopped and stared at the cream chairs in the room and God spoke and
said “Say Hello To Your New Prayer Closet”.
A light went off in my head and the presence of God filled the
room. I toyed for weeks what I would do
with this room considering I originally had my office downstairs, but bringing
it to a higher level in my house gave me a since of peace. My mind began to think of the bible and how
it talks about the Upper room where people prayed. Everyone needs a private place to pray. You need a quite place away from distractions
where you can just spend time with you and God. When was the last time you
prayed? Each morning when I rise I walk pass this room as a reminder that I
must give God praise for everything he’s done for me. The more you pray the more God moves in your
life. If you want peace one must seek
peace and if you want deliverance one must begin with a prayer. Now if your desires are to be closer to God
find yourself a quiet place and make it your prayer closet and spend time there
talking to your heavenly father.
Matthew 6 (KJV)
5 And
when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to
pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they
may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But
thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy
door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in
secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But
when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that
they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be
not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have
need of, before ye ask him.
9 After
this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy
kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give
us this day our daily bread.
12 And
forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And
lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the
kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
