I wanted to share this today because it was shared with me. Yesterday I witness a group of individuals mistreating a Christian. The weird thing about it all is everyone in the group was a sinner except one who proclaimed to be a Christian. They opening belittled someone in order to make themselves feel good. It was as watching high schooler's trying to fit in to some secret society club. On my way home yesterday I began to share with my mom what I had witnessed. She didn’t say much but early this morning she made two statements. The first was now you know the person is doing something right for God because if they weren’t the devil wouldn’t fight them and the second was the scripture quoted below.
John 15:18-20 King James Version (KJV)
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
My thoughts I took away for this event was this as Christian’s our lives are not supposed to be easy because it wasn’t for God, but what we must understand is that the struggles in which we fight will be rewarded by our heavenly father. Christian’s tend to judge non-Christians but Christian standards. We must understand that they don’t want to live by our standards so how do you judge a sinner by saved rules. It’s nearly impossible unless God steps in. I think at times we think when we go to work, school or just everyday life situation that we should be left alone to live as we want, but that is not the case. Please believe me when I say this God knows your purpose and your destiny and so does the devil. It’s up to us to live as shinning examples of what God teaches. It would have been easy for me to say something in regards to the situation I witness, but I must understand that it’s not my fight. It’s God! If you’re going to believe in him you have to learn to trust in him. Being persecuted is never a good feeling and retaliation is very easy, but you have to remember your goal is to make it to heaven and to gain your heavenly crown. Oh and to those who believe you’re going to heaven any way take a moment to read this.
Matthew 7:21 King James Version (KJV)
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
