Gifts & Talents

Each person has been blessed with a special gift and or talent.  These are positive things that God has blessed you with.  I’ll use myself as an example. Many of my close friends know I have the ability to sing.  I’m a soprano by trade, but I will sing alto just to keep a low profile.  I’ve also been blessed with the gift of hospitality. This gift comes from having a mother who comes from the south. I always stay it’s in my genes.  In the past I’ve come across some folks who never understood my hospitality gene. It’s a way of showing love and bringing family and friends together. It’s not based on who pays for what, who brings what or even trying to buy love or friendship. Collectively as a group we come together with everything.  My friends and I even switch off and take turns at hosting things at our homes. It’s fun because no one ever feels as if they are being taken advantage of.   Now you may be wondering why I am saying all of this.  Well here is the kicker. The devil uses anyone he wants. When he feels as if you’re doing a little too well he will send someone to infiltrate the camp. This person will try to deter you from doing something that God has placed in your heart to do.  God has placed a ministry in each of us. Some people know their calling and others are still waiting to know.  Once you know what it is never allow anyone to make you feel as if you’re less than what God says you are. I’m realizing now that even folks who say they are your friends will hold jealousy and malice in their heart for you.  Life isn’t a competition and favor isn’t fair. If God has placed something in you know that it’s there for a reason. The devil will always do his job to tell you that you don’t know what you’re doing. You shouldn’t be doing that or that’s too much, but if God blessed you to do it then do it. Remember man doesn’t have a heaven or hell to put you in nor do they have a say-so on if you make it in. Take a moment and smile and think of this saying “Only what you do for Christ will last”. Don’t worry about what man says about you worry about what God says about you.
