Innocent Bystander
Last year one of my friends ended up being a casualty of war. It really wasn’t war, but the way I saw it one would say it felt like that. A friend of mine and I went through an ordeal together. In my heart of hearts I wanted to warn her. Some will say real friends would, but in this instance I couldn’t mainly because if I did then others would say Kee your wrong for telling on this person, so it was more like one of those instances you had to let someone see something for themselves. That still bothers me to this day because she didn’t deserve to go through that, but she understood why I had to do it. In going through what she went through she was able to draw her own conclusion on the matter. Her views were her views and her feelings were her feelings. It’s painful to see that she got hurt, but she wasn’t the only one. We went through it together. Imagine walking through fire all around you and thinking you don’t want anyone to go through this type of hell, but then you realize someone is holding your hand walking with you ever step of the way. In the end we both smelled like smoke and hurt by everything, but it was a valuable lesson we all had to go through. You see you can’t always tell folks what you need to in order to protect them. Sometimes you have to allow them to walk through the fire and see it for themselves.
